Thought on Patience

Wait. Be Patient.  The storm will pass.  The spring will come – Robert H. Schuller

In the past and even now I’ve been told I’m a very patient person.  I’ve also been told that if I was describe in one word its relentless! Both are true.  Under the exterior of the calm there is a storm.  It isn’t easy maintaining patience and being relentless.  It is hard, difficult, and many times hurtful.  The objective is belief.  Belief that what is true and harmonious will present itself.  That patience will bear a sweet fruit of happiness.  It is the pain and difficulty that patience passes through that enhances the sweetness.  It is the relentless belief that quantifies the joy.

Carl Jung said “Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word happy would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness. It is far better to take things as they come along with patience and equanimity.”

Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet.  Jean-Jacques Rousseau
