Fable has it that William of Normandy burned his ships when he landed at England in 1066
Apparently Hernando Cortez of Spain did the same in 1519 in the New World.
The reason, A definitive purpose.
Upon landing the troops of these leaders no longer thought of retreat.
There was nowhere to retreat too, the ships are gone.
Laser-like accuracy aligned their thoughts and decision on victory alone.
These acts, from these leaders aren’t confirmed,
They may or may not have happen.
However the concept is still the same.
A person must act with a definitive purpose on their challenges, goals, and dreams.
A person with some doubt will not conquer the toughest of goals.
A person with doubt will soon justify why they were unsuccessful.
Napoleon Hill stated,
“There is one quality which one must possess to win, and that is definiteness of purpose, the knowledge of what one wants, and a burning desire to possess it.”
Like a poker player with the will to lose and the heart to gain,
You must go ALL IN.
All in on your goals and dreams.
Half your potential and abilities is not enough to get you there.
Sooner or later you will have to muster up the courage to Burn the Ships!
